Who is Pastor Don Bradley?
We say this about him: he has “The Voice Of A Coach And The Heart Of A Pastor.”
Many attendees of Beacon of Hope Church—every Sunday morning—feel they are getting a simple coach-like message—inspirational and motivational—grounded in the sound principles of the Gospel.
His biographical sketch tells the story: Pastor Don was born and raised In Meriden, Connecticut. Upon high school graduation he attended North Carolina State University where he played football for the Wolfpack.
In 1974 he felt the call of ministry and attended Bangor Theological Seminary. After graduating with a Masters of Divinity degree in 1977, he was ordained, and for the next 38 years served churches in New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
Pastor Don has a tremendous experience in church growth and loves working with people who like to grow in their own faith. Not only does he love the Lord and serving His Church, he also has a passion for coaching high school football and working with young athletes.
As an assistant coach for years and a head coach for two high school football teams, Don became highly skilled at motivating young people to excel both on the field and off the field. He especially enjoys inspiring players to have character and courage that will help them in life situations!
In 2014 Pastor Don was asked to help launch a new church on Martha’s Vineyard and he accepted the challenge. As the founding pastor of Beacon of Hope he is excited about the future of our church and motivating islanders and visitors who want to grow in their faith and expand their love for Jesus Christ.
Pastor Don married his high school sweetheart, Gayle, in 1970 and they have three children – Ryan, Karen, and Allison. In addition, they have nine grandsons who have brought them much joy as well as excitement!
Pastor Don and Gayle have had a home on Martha’s Vineyard since 1989, yet just recently have taken up sailing to augment their love of clamming, walking on the beach and enjoying an awesome sunset at Menemsha.
They both look forward to personally meeting you at Beacon of Hope Church, Edgartown School, Sunday Mornings and welcoming you into our extraordinary church family.
